"In 1989, the Creative Director of an Indian advertising agency, Walter Mendez, depicted Kerala as 'God's own country.' And the state has never wavered from this divine essence. It reveals to you a scenic splendor that is almost utopian in its magnificence. Kerala has always been on the bucket list of every traveler that comes to India, with its dense green forests, crystal clear beaches, alluring villages, preserved cultural heritage, and above all, a sense of peace and majesty encompassing the entire locale.
This blog post is about my visit to Munnar, a hill station in this fantastic state. When one thinks about Munnar, imagery of ever-expanding tea gardens, clouds drifting through lanes, and sparkling waterbodies spring to mind. And to tell you the truth, it offers you everything it promises."
If one is on a quest to experience the erstwhile grandeur and royalty of the Indian monarchy and culture, the visit to Jaipur is a must. Acknowledged as the first planned city of India, Jaipur serves as both the cultural and political capital of Rajasthan. Celebrated for its rich heritage and art, Jaipur homes magnificent structures of architecture, beauty, and splendor that grandly represent the influence and existence of the Hindu as well as Mughal dynasties.
With its stately palaces, massive forts, and sacred temples, Jaipur is such a unique destination that you will feel as if you have traveled back in time, while also witnessing the evolution of India’s indigenous culture.
Jaipur is fondly called ‘The Pink City’. There's an intriguing anecdote regarding this well-known identity. The Prince of Wales visited India in 1876, and because pink is the color of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur had the entire city painted pink to welcome the British. Actually, the city is more terracotta 'pink' or peach than pink. It was Lord Albert that declared Jaipur to be a 'Pink City,' and thus the name.
